Founded in Kolkata in 2010 The Milestone has begun with a simple editorial mission: “Dear reader,” there are so many talents in South Asia but they can’t get a platform to showcase their literary skill. The aim of The Milestone is to promote those writers before the world. Side by side our effort will always be to initiate a literary journey to bridge East and West, an exchange of ideas, showing the latest trend of writing in West.”

In addition to the focus on original creative work, there will be interview series that would offer authors a rare opportunity to discuss their life and art at length; they will respond with some of the most revealing self-portraits in literature

Our Aim

The Milestone is a pioneer English literary magazine brought out from Kolkata that publishes essays, fictions, poems, features, photos, short stories, and translations from regional languages. We’ll also reprint works of great writers with due permission from the concerned writers or publishers.

Our aim is to encourage the new talents as well as publish the writing of those established writers who write in English. We’ll also publish English translation of those writers who write in regional languages.

New concepts in writing that can rock the society we’re looking for. Quality and not quantity is our slogan.

Who We Are

We are a small team dedicated to literature.  Our Editor  KOUSHIK ROY has attended several creative writing workshops in London.
